Stay on Trend this Winter at Yours

Buying clothes around Christmas time can be a bit of a headache if you aren’t sure if your new purchases are still going to be on-trend in January. However, at Yours Clothing, we’re already ahead of you and ready to advise you what you should be looking for style-wise in items of clothing you purchase from us so that they’ll remain fashionable right up until spring!

Colours: Autumnal shades have stayed faithful to fashion-lovers since September, so if you love deep purples, blues and berry red/pink colours, now is the time to get your hands on clothes utilising these colours. Choose a plain block-coloured top in any of these shades and accessorise with statement jewellery and a warm and comfy bit of knit wear. The great thing is that outfits like this can be dressed up for work with black trousers and smart heels for work and dressed down with jeans and pumps for an evening at the cinema with friends. These shades should last you well up until spring so don’t hesitate, buy your favourite items and get lots of wear out of them before the warmer weather returns.

Prints: Sequins and sparkles are all the rage this winter but if you don’t think spangles are for you, there are other ways to stand out. Flirty, feminine and fun, this empire line floral tunic is just the item for girls who want to look like they haven’t tried at all to look amazing. Pair it with jeans and a long draping cardigan just like our model in the picture or wear it with jeggings and a long pendant necklace. Either way, you are sure to look fantastic.

Animal prints are still about but more understated than previous seasons. If you want to show off and release your inner animal on the Christmas party dance floor, try this purple animal print top with a fitted jacket to ooze confidence and style. Best worn with a matching clutch handbag, you would be mad to pass this beauty by without a thought.

Trousers: Baby it’s cold outside... so save tiny mini skirts until the summer unless you will be going from club to taxi very quickly! You could wear tights with your sexy mini, but why bother when Yours Clothing have so much to offer this winter to keep you warm? These fantastic trousers are great value at a credit crunch busting £12, but if they are a bit formal for what you’re looking for today, don’t worry as we have much more in stock. These sequinned leggings are perfect for the party season but if you’re feeling a bit tired of sequins, we have some black wet look leggings reduced from £12 to £5. What a bargain.

Enjoy your Christmas shopping!

Global Traveler – A Plus Size Spring Trend!

Is it me or has this winter dragged on longer than usual? It seems that everything has come to a standstill as way of protest against the miserable weather and dark evenings. Well I’m pleased to be the bearer of good news…at last things seem to be cheering up – not the climate quite yet but certainly the fashion world is in full bloom. As promised last week, here begins a guide to the hottest trends for Spring/Summer 09….

GLOBAL TRAVELER

The ‘global traveler’ trend is all about taking inspiration from a mix of cultures and styles; combining a variety of patterns and textures in order to create an eclectic, feminine look. Key to this style are ethnic prints, cool cottons and loose chiffon. Colours include purples and fuchsias with jade and lime accents set against backgrounds of black grey and denim. Monochrome also features but in muted tones. Paisley prints are often used to add impact and colour. Shape is also important. ‘Loose’ and ‘Skimming’ are the key words here. Forget restrictive, tight clothes, ‘global travelers’ like to feel comfortable and cool.

Perhaps the best aspect of this pretty trend is its accessibility. Us curvy girls can embrace the styling while enjoying ultra-flattering fabrics and prints. Long skimming patterned tunics teamed with jeans or leggings are a great way to show off the style in comfort and with confidence. The black purple and lilac mix and match print tunic (left) for instance combines all the colours and examples of the ‘global traveler’ fashion with a figure-enhancing shape.

For more of an evening look, this tunic (right) is a great example. The black and cream chiffon layer tunic instantly keeps it feminine and the embroidered detail catches the feel of the look perfectly. Texture and shape are key to ensuring that this piece is flattering as well as stylish for plus-size girls.
When looking to add some ‘global traveler’ into your wardrobe, remember to look for; Texture, Pattern, Colour and Shape to add an exotic twist to your style this spring…and without the costly plane ticket!

Next Month it's there's an 80's revival heading our way, keep posted!
