Celebrity Look: Elizabeth Taylor

Hello everyone, how are we all? We've got a great deal on summer maxi dresses this week - you can get 2 maxis for only £35! Isn't that a bargain? Make sure you look at our daily deals for even more... ;)

This week's celebrity look is the late, great Liz Taylor. Liz was a true icon, and always had an eye for glamorous, avant garde fashion. But in amongst the photos of her outrageous headpieces and ballgowns came this lovely photo of her on holiday back in the 60's. As the sun is beginning to shine here in the UK, I felt this was a great look to recreate...

Coral chiffon tunic, £32

I think this is a great look for summer. If you're not as confident as Liz to go bare-legged, then a pair of our leggings would work brilliantly!

Celebrity Look: Anne Hathaway

Hello you lovely lot, how are you? Hope you had a fantastic weekend! Did you take advantage of our half price delivery offer before Sunday? Hope so! Remember to keep in touch via twitter or facebook to get the low down on any deals or offers!

This week's celebrity style icon is the lovely Anne Hathaway. Hathaway is proving herself to be a real trend setter, especially after her mammoth 8 costume changes when she hosted this year's Oscars and of course, her star making role in The Devil Wears Prada.

I loved her soft, feminine and bohemian Dolce & Gabbana dress that she wore to the premiere of her new film Rio last week, and I was so happy to see the guys at Yours have a similar tunic that I went and recreated the whole outfit...

I love how romantic and feminine this is, and perfect for summer! Those of you who are conscious of your legs may prefer to wear leggings with this tunic, as it is rather short. I do love how with Yours, it's possible the emulate the style of A list celebrities and models, even when you're plus size!

I'd love to know what you think of this look. Are there any celebrities you'd like me to look into? Let me know! You can comment on this blog, tweet me, facebook me or drop me an email. I'd love to hear from you!

Lots of love,

Yours' Spring/Summer Press Launch!

Hey everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and Valentines Day yesterday! Remember we have lots of romantic themed ideas in our Valentines shop if you feel like a belated treat.

Last week was very exciting for the Yours camp, as it was the launch of our spring & summer collection and lookbook, which we presented to various journalists from The Sun, Look Magazine, Best, among others. It was a very posh affair including a dinner held at one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants, Maze. A much more refined affair than my usual rack of ribs at Harvester...! Here are some quick snaps I took of the evening...

The lovely table setting, with a sneek peek of our lookbook photos on each table.

Before we tucked in to eat, Andrew, the owner of Yours, gave a speech about what he feels the company is about. He noted that the models used in our lookbooks are smaller than our customers, which I know is a contentious issue for a lot of women who feel under represented.

Loved the bouquets on each table, so pretty and smelled wonderful!

Journalists chatting beforehand.

As the launch was primarily about the clothes, Yours brought two rails of clothes featured in the lookbook for all the press to look at. I took some photos of my favourite pieces, too:

One of our two rails of samples!

This is definitely one of my favourites, a sheer white cape-sleeved blouse. Perfect for festivals!

Loved this take on the nautical theme, it's so cute and easy to wear.

This top is a colourful version of this chiffon tunic already available online and in store, where it's wildly popular. The journalists loved it, too!

Maxi dresses are still a big hit this summer, so naturally Yours have got loads! I loved the print on this, as well as a zigzag print maxi that all the journalists went gaga for, and a ditsy floral print one that is super cute.
This tunic has it all - leopard print, sheer chiffon, peter-pan collar, voluminous sleeves and a dipped hem. Amazing!

Thanks so much to Yours and Wingfield PR for letting me sit in on the event, it was fab! Keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page, I've posted all the lookbook photos there and as always, I'd love to hear what you think!

Lots of love,

Lauren xx

Try Yellow For Summer

You know that summer is well and truly on its way when the yellow clothing starts to make an appearance in the shops. Is it the fashion equivalent of a sun dance?

Many people are concerned about wearing yellow because if you get it wrong, you can look pale, unhealthy and washed out. If people ask if you are unwell, the chances are, you’ve chosen the wrong hue.

A basic rule of thumb for wearing yellow is that pale girls who probably have blonde hair and blue eyes can wear yellow and look stunning, they just need to stick to darker yellows such as mustards or muted yellows. Super-bright yellows and bright lemons are best left to girls with dark hair or darker complexions.

What colours can you wear yellow with? Black isn’t really very summery and can look harsh against a super-bright yellow top. Pair yellow items with white cropped trousers/shorts or opt for pale beiges or khaki if you are feeling creative.

So what have Yours Clothing got to offer in the way of summer yellows this May?

I recommend this yellow stud vest. It has a flattering scoop neck and it is the perfect length for summer i.e. the top isn’t so short you accidentally get sunburn on your back or hips! Not cool! The top also comes in black, white and purple so if this is a favourite of yours and you’re rocking the rock chick look this summer this fab studded top is one that you can afford to buy in more than one colour. At a purse-friendly price of £10 you can’t go wrong!

We have another great offer on which means you can inject more colour into this year’s summer wardrobe if you’re not feeling colourful enough already. This ribbed vest is part of our 2 for £10 deal (See above) We can’t say fairer than that!
