Dotty about dots!

Polka dots are one print that never seems to go out of fashion, and just a little bit of dottiness in your wardrobe can really make a difference. While they come in a variety of different colours, my favourite is still the classic monochrome look - you just can't go wrong!

It seems Yours share my obsession as every day new cute and kooky polka dotted items have made their way on to the site. Here are some of my absolute best items available right now:

I love that there are so many different designs with polka dots, there's something for everyone no matter your taste or style. I have already bought the 2in1 dress, and I think the sun-dress is next on my hit list!

What fabric or patterns are your favourite? Or are you more into the colour blocking trend that's around at the moment? Let me know!

Until next time...

Thanks to Hawksmont for the heart brushes!

Lauren's Fashion Fixer: In the Coral Club!

Hey everyone!

As I'm sure you know, Yours aims to cater to all types of plus size women and make sure everyone gets to dress exactly how they want: whether you prefer comfort and practicality, or fast and hard fashion trends. Our Limited Collection has some fantastic, uber trendy items this summer which are perfect for those of you who want to head out on the dance floor!

Coral is a key colour this season and it looks fab with a tan (real or bottled) - I've picked three plus size clubbing outfits that are definitely not for the faint hearted!

Look 1: Colour Block
Clockwise from top left: Purple shrug, £5; Blue corsage, £4; Limited Collection 2in1 coral mini dress, £35; Purple bracelets, £8; Shoes, Brian Atwood; Hot pink clutch purse, £8

Look 2: Ms Sassy!

Look 3: Ms Classy
Clockwise from left: Limited Collection coral one shoulder corsage mini-dress, £35; Gold drop earrings, £6; Shoes, Schuh; Gold studded clutch, £5; Gold statement necklace, £; Gold swirl stretch ring, £5; Black leopard print tights, £8

What do you think peeps? I've gone for the very trendiest and most body-conscious, however I know a lot of you will want a little more coverage. You can always swap the tights for leggings and add a cover up if you prefer.

And if you feel the need to smooth some lumps and bumps, there's always our shapewear range that can help you feel even more confident!

Hope you like these looks, and if you have any sartorial dilemmas let me know via facebook or twitter, I'd love to help!

Until next time... Lots of love!

My style, Yours style!

Hello everyone! Hope you had a fabulous weekend? There's been so many amazing new arrivals on site which I can't wait to share with you!

Now, every month I look forward to compiling pictures of bloggers and fellow Yours customers wearing the brand, but as I'm first and foremost a customer myself it makes sense that I document my Yours-heavy outfits...

If you know my personal blog you may have seen this there - I couldn't post it here as Blogger went down! But here I am in my favourite recent purchase, the Limited Collection 2in1 smudge print tunic.

I admit I cheated a little with this dress. Because I am much larger around the hips and belly than up top, I ordered a size 24 (1 size bigger than my usual) and then ran in under the arms. It's great - the bodice is slightly oversized and is a silky jersey material, and the skirt part is so comfortable. I paired it with Yours' ruched sleeve shrug and some black accessories and I really like the result!

What do you think? At the end of this month I'll be rounding up all you style savvy people's photos for this month's style inspiration, so if you'd like to take part, tweet, comment or facebook me your outfit pics!

Until next time...

Celebrity Look: Kate Middleton

Hello everyone, I hope you had a fab weekend! Our 10% offer may have ended at midnight, but because we're so committed to giving you bargains, for a limited time we have 20% off all our purses, bags and jewellery! You can't say we don't spoil you... ;)

On to this week's celebrity look, and we're continuing the royal newly-weds theme... This time featuring our brand new princess herself! The announcement of Catherine (Kate) Middleton and Prince William's engagement was huge news around the world, and women everywhere fell in love with her royal blue Issa dress - prompting copycats all over the high street.

Until now there hadn't been a plus size version of Kate Middleton's engagement dress, but brand new to Yours this week is our version, featuring the key colour, wrap bust, waist detail and long sleeves, available up to size 32! And not only that, you won't believe what the price is!

Silver cluster necklace, £8 (£6.40 in today's offer)
Silver heart stretch ring, £6 (£4.80 in today's offer)
Shoes, Office

I've recreated the look down to one of our rings that has similar qualities to Kate's engagement ring, which was of course passed down to Wills from his late mother, Princess Diana. This look has real elegance and class, despite the small cost. And it shows that no matter your size, you really can dress like a princess!

Let me know what you think, I'd love to hear from you. You can comment, tweet or facebook me. Chat to you soon!

The Perfect Christmas Party Dress

We know how disappointing it can be when you’ve found that perfect dress for the Christmas party but they just don’t stock it in your size. That’s why at Yours Clothing we’ve listened to what our customers want and produced a fantastic selection of plus size party dresses, designed to dazzle and impress this party season. We’ve picked three of our favourite’s dresses from the Winter Collection to feature this month.

One of our favourites from the Limited Collection is the "must-have" Black Mesh Jewel Trim Tunic available in sizes 16-32. This is the perfect dress for the Christmas party as the tunic cut and shape of the dress give it a formal look and the jewel embellished trim around the neckline and hem adds a bit of party glitz and glamour. It’s only £35 so you’ll have plenty of spare cash left over for accessories to complete the look. This dress would look great with our black studded tights and black all over sequin clutch, both of which are an absolute bargain at only £10.

The black and purple puff sleeve lace tunic is another fantastic item from our winter dresses collection. It's available in sizes 16-32 and amazingly it's priced at only £25. If you’re a pair shape, this dress is perfect for you; it balances out your shoulders with your hips and flatters your curves to create an hour glass shape. Team this dress with a pair of sheer black tights and some of our stunning statement jewellery, such as the shiny black & silver statement necklace to add a bit of sparkle to your outfit.

The Black Lining Spot Net Tea Dress, available in sizes 14-32, is the ultimate little black dress that never fails to impress and it’s only £30. This modern adaptation of a classic is styled as an empire line cut with a satin ribbon that ties neatly in a bow at the back to show off those fabulous curves. The simple classic style of this dress allows you to accessorize it with almost any item. Why not try one of our sequin shrugs that range from £15-25 to add a bit of glitz and glamour to your look.

At this time of year every penny counts, your Christmas shopping list seems never ending and you haven’t even thought of spending money on yourself. Our collection of plus size dresses at Yours Clothing is the answer to all your Christmas party needs. Our amazingly affordable fashions and accessories make us the one stop shop to create your dream Christmas party look.

Maxi Dress, Maxi Dress We Love You!

Maxi dresses are one of the best selling items at Yours. Great news for our lovely customers: we have a new favourite must-have maxi dress coming soon to our online store! At £40, this maxi dress is not only a great price, it is incredibly beautiful and I think this one is going to fly off the shelves!
With all the amazing reviews we had for other maxi dresses, we are sure that the customers will love this one too.

This dress is colourful and could be worn in the day and in the evening. By simply changing the accessories (oversized handbag with flip flops for the day and clutch with elegant bejewelled flat sandals by night), you can be sure you will make sensation! The eye is drawn to your best assets (breasts!) with the empire line cut of the dress and the material skims over the parts that you can dislike. It is very light and fluid and perfect for those temperatures. The design is very simple yet beautiful. If you feel too conscious about wearing it, you can still add our black control band which will look like you have lost a few pounds.

We are expecting this dress to fly off the shelves so if you want to get your hands on this dress, sign up for email alerts today.

Love Maxi Dresses? Love Yours Clothing!

Maxi dresses are the hottest thing you can own in spring/summer 2010!

Whether you are a “Skinny Minnie” or if there is a little bit more of you to love, the key to wearing maxi dresses is confidence – and loads of it!

Most maxi dresses are typically cut on an empire line, meaning that the waist line for the dress is raised well above the normal waistline. It actually is cut just below the bust so that the fabric hangs freely over your stomach and hips. This type of dress can really enhance the appearance of your bust and skims over other parts of the body, creating a gorgeous curvy silhouette that others will envy.

How should you wear a maxi dress?

  • Maxi dresses can swamp girls who are a little shorter so petite lovelies should stick to more tailored styles that are a little shorter, like this cute polka dot chiffon dress that has attracted rave reviews on the Yours Clothing website.
  • Don’t wear high heels with your maxi dress, stick to flats or kitten heels otherwise you will not only make you look over dressed for the day, you’re not helping the ‘ethereal’ bohemian theme that most maxi dresses are trying to achieve. By wearing flat sandals you will look like you’re floating rather than walking!
  • Keep jewellery to a minimum of either a long pendant or a chunky bracelet if you’re wearing it during the day. Let the dress do the talking!
  • Accessorise with a large handbag to balance the outfit out
That is all there is to it! We’ve been promised a hot summer this year so keep cool with a floaty maxi dress from Yours Clothing.

Curvy girls in the News

We saw an article in the news this week that should have all curvaceous girlies cheering. V Magazine have dedicated an entire issue to female models who are bigger than a size 0 – and the look flippin’ gorgeous! The issue in question comes out on 14th January but we feel it’s come too late, after all, we’ve been saying how lovely larger ladies are for years now!

Yours Clothing began because we knew other shopping outlets weren’t catering to the needs of women who wear clothes between a 14 and 32. The cuts were all wrong and styles were regularly less than flattering. We have always known that plus size girls are the sexiest out there and we know how to dress you at the right price.

We’ve got loads of fantastic new stock in at the moment and we need to clear out our warehouse so we can get more great clothes in - just like this
print dress. Prints are THE thing to be wearing this spring so get ahead of the trend and pop this colourful item in your shopping basket. For the colder days we’re having at the moment, wear thick black tights, heels and a long black cardi with chunky jewellery. Grab a thick gold-coloured bangle to stand out. At £22, you’ll get months of wear out of it and will take you right through to the end of summer.

So what about the sale items we’ve got kicking around the warehouse? Purple is still the colour of the season and worth investing in. However for a tenner, if you wear something a few times it has paid for itself! That’s why this is the outfit to wow your friends with (and it’s a sale fave of mine!) This
purple satin dress has been reduced from £18 to £10. Teamed with leggings and your sparkliest bling for maximum effect.

Looking to rejuvenate your underwear drawer? Yours Clothing have some really pretty knickers and bras in the sale. Get in there quickly as we don’t expect bras priced at £5 to be left for long!

What we are sure you’ll be pleased to hear is that while other companies will be starting to increase their prices to stay in line with the government’s VAT increase, the prices at Yours Clothing will remain the same. The price you would pay today is the price you will pay tomorrow.

Happy shopping!
