Celebrity Look: Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Hello everyone! Did you have a great Christmas? Hope Santa was really good to you all this year! Of course, now we have the January sales to look forward to - but we couldn't wait, so we've launched ours already! Up to 75% off original prices and items from just £2, what are you waiting for?

A slightly different "celebrity" look for us this week - in fact, it's a fictional character! To celebrate the release of the English language version of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo this week I've come up with a look that reflects the tough cookie heroine, Lisbeth Salander, played by Rooney Mara in the film (and for you super fans, Noomi Rapace in the originals!). This one's definitely for you rock chicks...

I love this look, tough and understated! Are you going to see the film at the cinema, or are you a fan of the book series?

Lots of love,

Lauren xx

Tales from the Dressing Room

Hello everyone! I hope you're all very well - can you believe it's only 9 days until Christmas? Where has this year gone, I ask you!

Before I get into the nitty gritty of this blog post, I must plead with you to vote, vote, VOTE as it's the final day of 100% People's Plus Size Awards. We really want to win Best Independent - it would really make our Christmas!

Earlier this week I headed down to my local Yours store with a view to trying on some items that are popular among you. As I'm a 5'1", size 20-22 pear shape, I thought it'd be good for those with similar bodies to see what the clothes look like on someone who isn't model standard! Here are the photos and my thoughts...

First item I tried was this Leopard Print 2in1 Belted Dress in a size 22. A small word of warning, the top part is see-through so you may need a vest to hand! But it's beautiful and from the front does give me a bit of a waist! However, as you can probably see, the bodycon skirt shows the outline of my belly, which is a dealbreaker for a lot of plus size women. I would definitely recommend this for hourglass or busty shapes to really emphasise those womanly curves of yours!

Next up was the Winter Ditsy Tunic, in a size 20. This fit absolutely perfectly - the empire line waist means it works well on my pear shape, flowing over my belly and hips. I would also recommend it for apple shapes. The material is cotton, so I would pair it with thick tights or leggings, boots and a warm cardi for winter.

I tried this Black, Grey & Red Floral Tunic in a size 22-24, though I could easily have gone down a size. These styles are so popular with you guys, and it's easy to see why. They're so comfortable and roomy, just an absolute joy to wear, no matter your shape. The scarf is detached so you can add it to any outfit, too!

Finally, and my favourite of the bunch, is the Spotty Gaga Sleeve Dress in a size 20. If you're looking to emphasise or create curves in places you didn't know you had them, this is absolutely the dress for you! On my pear shape I felt sexy and curvy in a way I don't normally. Absolutely perfect!

What do you think, ladies? Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to try!

Lots of love,

Lauren xx

Celebrity Look: Jessie J's Superstar Tights!

Hello there everyone! Can you believe it's December already?! Have you got your Christmas decorations up yet?

Before I talk about my favourite item this week, I really want us to have a weekend push to get back in front of both our categories in the 100 Percent People awards! Please vote for us as often as you can in Best Retailer and Best Independent Retailer as we really, really, really want to WIN!

You all know that Yours Clothing, unlike most plus size retailers, pulls absolutely no punches when it comes to bringing our customers versions of the latest and most current fashion around. So no sooner had (a rather cross-eyed) Jessie J strutted her star printed tights on the stage, than our very own plus size version appeared! Check it out:

Aren't they just brilliant? I've ordered my pair already! Now don't worry, you're not obliged to wear tiny hotpants like Jessie. I think they'd look just as great with a more demure style of dress, like our gaga sleeve dress in any block colour, and paired with our patent courts. This will give you an elegant look with a flash of star style!

What do you think? Will you be rocking these in the run up to Christmas?

Lots of love,

Lauren xx

Style Inspiration: November

Hi everyone! Hope you've had a great weekend?

We've got a great deal on this week for our UK customers: next day delivery is half price, £3.49 instead of £6.99! There's no minimum spend and it's available up to 3pm on Thursday, so you can get your clothes in time for this weekend. What are you waiting for?

As well as that, we'd really love it if you could continue voting for us in the Best Retailer and Best Independent Retailer categories in the 100 Percent People awards. We're holding on to 1st place in Best Independent, but we're in 2nd place in Best Retailer and we want to WIN! You can vote every 12 hours, so please spread the word to your friends!

Well November is drawing to a close, and we're getting ready for Christmas, but first I have to share with you Yours' stunning plus size customers and bloggers wearing our items!

Our red and black dress has proved popular, with Miria and Nadia both rocking it! Miria has also teamed the dress with our studded belt and studded tights. Amazing!

Here is the beautifully named Jascent wearing one of our summer maxis - how fabulous? Alongside blogger Joanna, who wears our summer cropped denim jacket perfectly.

Karina looks fashionably casual in our Minnie Mouse t-shirt, and the lovely Lesley looking absolutely FABULOUS in our elegant purple jeweled maxi dress, that's still available in some sizes!

Looking beautifully feminine and elegant is Lynne and Megan, featuring a tribal patterned skirt available from last year, and this summer's rose pink floral maxi - still available in sizes 18 and 24, at a reduced price of £19.

Miria and Nadia return! Nadia on the right wears one of our popular, colourful tunics from earlier this year, and Miria looks hot to trot in her military jacket!

Australia blogger Natalie shows off her laid back summer style with the help of our crochet top - and how cute is her dog, Miffy? As well as that, the lovely Odelia looks wonderful in our purple floral maxi and matching shrug.

Rachel looks like a curvy superstar in our animal print chiffon maxi, doesn't she? Good work, girl! And Sam from Lips, Hips and Fatshion Tips always dresses up a treat - her Yours faux leather bomber from last winter is perfect for her autumn kitsch outfit.

That's all for this month folks! Will you be wearing Yours Clothing over the Christmas party period? If you are, don't forget to tweet or facebook your photos to be featured on our blog! Can't wait to see your fabulous outfits...

Lots of love,

Lauren xx

Jump Into The Party Season!

When jumpsuits re-emerged a few years ago, we all wondered if the trend had legs (no pun intended).

But when stylish celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow, Katie Holmes and Rihanna were spotted wearing them, it became clear this look was here to stay.

The jumpsuit is one of those pieces you can never go wrong with. They're comfortable, elegant, flattering and work in all fabrics and colours.

Whether it's flowing, flared, draped or straight, picking the right one plays an important role to how you are going to wear/style it properly.

At Yours we have a great selection of jumpsuits designed specifically for the coming party season. They are a great alternative to a dress but you will still feel feminine and chic.

Check out our styles below and remember to accessorise.

Celebrity Look: Victoria Beckham

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great week so far?

We're still in dire need of your votes in the 100 Percent People awards! Please help us get back in 1st place in the Best Plus Size Ladies Retailer and keep us in front in the Best Independent Plus Size Ladies Retailer - let us know on facebook or twitter when you've voted, as there may be a treat in store for you!

It's been a while since our last celebrity look, and today I've chosen one of the most stylish women in the UK - Posh Spice herself! Here she is looking as smart and fashionable as ever - although wearing scarily high heels in which to carry her adorable daughter Harper Seven - in one of her own colour-block designs. If you want to emulate her superstar look, look no further than Yours!

Sadly the cute baby isn't included! But this is a great, smart look for the office or even a night out - and you can get it all for under £50, too. If you're not as proud of your pins as Mrs Beckham or need a bit more warmth, wear with a pair of our plus size leggings and you'll look just fabulous!

Until next time, ladies!

Layer Up with Yours' Basics

Hey everyone! Hope you enjoyed our sister site Size Up's 10% offer over the weekend. What did you buy? Let us know!

You've been doing an incredible job voting for us in the 100 Percent People's Plus Size Awards. We've got a good lead in the Best Independent Ladies Plus Size Retailer category, but we've slipped to 2nd place in the Best Retailer category. Nooo! Can you help us push the votes and take over Igigi's lead? Please vote for us and spread the word!

Here at Yours we have always included a great mix of unique, fashionable designs with lots of budget-busting basics items, and this season is no different. Alongside our extravagant party dresses and evening wear are dependable, good quality basics in a range of autumnal hues:

Stretch Skinny Jeans, £22. Available in khaki, brown, black and navy.

Our stretchy skinnies are an absolute must have for any autumn and winter wardrobe. Throw on a warm jumper and boots and you're ready for anything!

Scoop Neck T-Shirts, £8 each/2 for £15. Available in black, brown, blue and purple.

When a jumper just isn't enough - or if you need some extra coverage - these long-sleeved scoop-neck tops provide an extra layer of warmth on those cold winter evenings.

Asymmetric Hem T-Shirts, £8 each/2 for £15. Available in teal, denim, berry, black and charcoal.

Similar to our scoop-neck t-shirts, these can help with layering up. But the 3/4 sleeves and asymmetric hem have a little more detail, meaning you can wear them for layering purposes or on their own.

Hope you like these! How would you style them? Let me know on our facebook page, in the comments or on twitter. Can't wait to chat to you!

Dressing room adventures!

Hello all, how are you? I hope you're very well! If you're based in the UK, until 4pm today we have half price next day delivery, so it'll only cost you £3.49 instead of £6.99. Don't miss out!

Earlier this week I headed to one of our stores, and tried on a few items I love from the site. I've always found it helpful to see clothes on a more ordinary body so I thought I'd do the same thing for you!

I am 5'1, a size 22-24 and a definite pear shape. Here goes!

1st item: Black & White 2in1 Dress, £28. I tried this dress in a 22 and it was a perfect fit! I think it gave me a great silhouette as the bodice is fairly short, so it nips me in and gives me the illusion of a waist. The skirt is a lovely a-line so it skims my belly and bum very nicely! I'm also very impressed with the length of the skirt, it means that even taller women can wear it as a dress with opaque black tights underneath.

2nd item: Mustard Tunic, £14.50. I tried this tunic in a 22-24. It's such a beautiful, on trend colour for the autumn/winter season and while it looked okay, I believe it's a much better cut for someone with a curvier, hourglass figure to avoid the snug fit around the belly. Such a great, comfortable look for daytime, and there are many other colours available!

3rd item: Coral Dip Back Scoop Neck Jumper, £17. I tried this on in a 22-24 and I absolutely love it. It is unbelievably soft, it simply has to be felt to be believed! This is just great for keeping warm and toasty in the winter and suits any body shape. I especially like the dip back for a sweet little detail. Great with leggings and boots, or even with a skirt (I'm wearing my own Yours velvet skirt from last year in the photos) and thick, wooly tights.

I hope you've enjoyed this post! Let me know if you do and I will happily post more! :)

Julia's Fashion Fix

Hello,

My name is Julia Ogden and I am the fashion editor at Yours Clothing. I am here to help you stay one stiletto ahead of the style game and give you tips on how to wear the latest trends. I also want to hear from you: Let me know what you think about Yours Clothing, send me pictures of yourself in your favourite Yours outfit and if you have any fashion tips you want to share please get in touch.

It is very important to remember very few women are confident about their bodies. Most of us have hang-ups and are conscious about certain areas being on display.

However, we are often our biggest critics, and it is amazing how easy it is to disguise the bits we don't like by wearing the right clothes for our shape.

Here at Yours Clothing, all the clothes we sell are designed to flatter the fuller figure and help you feel more confident.

It doesn't matter what size or shape you are, if you feel you look good then chances are other people will too. So don't forget to straighten your shoulders, put your head up and smile - it's always the perfect accessory to any outfit.
