Lauren's Fashion Fixer: Happy Halloween Everyone!

Hello everyone did you have a spookily fab weekend? I do hope so!

Of course, today is All Hallow's Eve itself, so I hope you're getting your sweets ready for tonight's trick or treating! And I've got just the perfect outfit for you to do it in - who doesn't want to be a stylish witch? Not to mention, without the hat, this is a great, romantic outfit for those of you who love to goth it up all year round...

I'm so in love with this outfit - the dress itself is so unusual, and I particularly like how to the tights look a little bit like poison ivy...

What do you think? Are you partial to the dark side of dressing? Let me know!

Julia's Fashion Fix

Hello,

My name is Julia Ogden and I am the fashion editor at Yours Clothing. I am here to help you stay one stiletto ahead of the style game and give you tips on how to wear the latest trends. I also want to hear from you: Let me know what you think about Yours Clothing, send me pictures of yourself in your favourite Yours outfit and if you have any fashion tips you want to share please get in touch.

It is very important to remember very few women are confident about their bodies. Most of us have hang-ups and are conscious about certain areas being on display.

However, we are often our biggest critics, and it is amazing how easy it is to disguise the bits we don't like by wearing the right clothes for our shape.

Here at Yours Clothing, all the clothes we sell are designed to flatter the fuller figure and help you feel more confident.

It doesn't matter what size or shape you are, if you feel you look good then chances are other people will too. So don't forget to straighten your shoulders, put your head up and smile - it's always the perfect accessory to any outfit.

We've had some wonderful additions from our customers, bloggers and fans this month. We're so lucky to have such stylish women in our clothes! Let's take a look, shall we?

First up is the awesome Brittney of Born In Sequins, breaking all the rules and looking fabulous, with the help of our sequin blazer!

Gina from Fat Fit Fine rocks one of our blazers, and Jenna from Inbetween Fashion looks adorable in our purple velvet shrug!

And here's Jo wearing one of our summer maxis and our babydoll dress. Isn't her hair amazing?

Joanna from Just Joanna has an effortless bohemian chic look going on with our palazzo trousers, while Kamila goes for a cute retro look - love the sash, Kamila!

Laura from What Laura Loves rocks our printed maxi dress on a night out!

Lovely Letilor dresses up with our sparkly red shrug from last Christmas, and the gorgeous Miria of Plus Kawaii looks just great with our floral tunic.

I love Nadia from My Stylish Life's inventiveness in this outfit - our black sparkly shrug really makes it unique! Natalie from Fat And Fancy looks great for every day with our red checked shirt and jeans!

Sam from Stiletto Siren looks amazing in her edgy shorts paired with our sequin tux! I also really enjoy Sefi's dressed down style - who doesn't love a bit of Mickey and Minnie Mouse?

Valerie of Blog to be Alive goes for an on trend look with a metallic jumper teamed with our leather-look skirt from last year! And finally Zamzarina works our crochet maxi dress and military shrug to perfection in a model competition!

Hope you've enjoyed these looks and gotten a little inspiration from them! If you have a photo of yourself in Yours that you'd like to share, you can tweet us a photo or upload one to our facebook page - can't wait to see your outfits!

Celebrity Look: Michelle Pfeiffer

Hello everyone! Did you have a good weekend?

The voucher codes I told you about on Friday are still working, and will be until 9am tomorrow. Save £2.50 off orders over £35 with the code TWO, £5 off orders over £50 with the code FIVE, and £10 off orders over £75 with the code TEN. Happy shopping!

I know that some of the celebrities featured here are very young, but this week it's turn of a lady who has aged gracefully and looks just as good as she did in her 20s: movie star and the ultimate Catwoman, Michelle Pfeiffer. She stepped out at a Hollywood event for women in the film industry and looked elegant, smart and fabulous.

And what's great about her look is that it's not just for the super-rich or super-slim - I've put together a matching outfit that'll make all you plus size ladies the belle of the ball:

I think this is such a classy look, and I love that Michelle has mixed up her precious metals with a combination of gold and silver. Our dress is shorter than the original, so if you are conscious of baring your legs, a pair of our opaque tights are the key!

What do you think of this look? Is it something you'd like to recreate?

Shapewear Calculations

Hi everybody! Hope you're having a great week - it's just flown by hasn't it? Yours have made the weekend that little bit sweeter, too, by having yet another three tier offer. Our last one was so popular that we've brought it back again! Here's what you can save and how to do it:
  • Save £2.50 on non-sale orders over £35 with the checkout code TWO
  • Save £5 on non-sale orders over £50 with the checkout code FIVE
  • Save £10 on non-sale orders over £75 with the checkout code TEN
Enter them at the checkout, and you're done! Now on to today's blog topic: shapewear!

Shapewear is an essential part of a Yours customer's wardrobe and a favourite of style gurus such as Gok Wan and Trinny & Susannah. The aim of shapewear is to smooth and hold the body tightly, resulting in a smooth, lump'n'bump free silhouette. Shapewear can give confidence to even the most insecure of women, meaning they can feel and look fantastic no matter the occasion.

Some shapewear brand names charge as much for a pair of slimming knickers as we do for a dress, so here at Yours our range of shapewear manages to sculpt and control but at a price that's still friendly to you!

But what garments are best for you? And what type of shapewear goes best with which garments? Well, I've dug around and come up with a few combinations that I think would work very well, whether for evenings or casual wear!

As lovely as our lace gaga sleeve dress is, it can be quite daunting - a tunic shape, and stretchy to boot! For this, our high waisted, long length shorts are a perfect option. The high waist means your stomach and waist will look flatter, your bum smoother and more pert, and the length means the tops of your thighs will also be smoother. And with the delicate floral print, it looks just as good when the party's over and the dress comes off! ;)

We've got a range of brightly coloured leggings available online and in store at the moment, including on-trend mustard. But lighter colours can be scary if you feel they will show up things you'd prefer to hide, such as cellulite or any extra fat. Wearing the nude version of our floral shorts should eliminate some of this worry, by smoothing and controlling the tops of your thighs so you can strut around with confidence!

As with the black lace dress, this gorgeously bright multi colour tunic is made of jersey, so will fit close to the body which I know is a frightening prospect! Our sculpting skirt sits high on the waist, nipping it in, and flattens the stomach minimising the overhang (don't worry, we all get it!) leading to a much smaller silhouette, and leaving you confident and able to turn heads for the right reasons!

There's nothing worse than a dress with a defined waist when you don't have one. But if you're an apple, then you CAN rock a dress like this with the added help of our waist cincher. Acting similar to a corset but much more comfortable, it is lined with power mesh and bones to create an hourglass shape underneath.

Well I hope you enjoyed this post, ladies! Of course, shapewear is completely optional and there's nothing intrinsically wrong with your bodies - but I know a lot of you feel more confident with them, so hopefully this helps somewhat. Do let me know what you think!

Have a fantastic weekend,

Lauren xx

Celebrity Look: Katie Holmes

Hello everyone, hope you're having a great week so far! Have you seen we've added hundreds of new reductions to our sale? You can get some wonderful bargains - my favourite is our pretty lilac animal print tunic, now half price!

Katie Holmes has become one of the biggest fashion icons since marrying Tom Cruise, and I am a huge fan of her effortless, minimalist style. Her simple blue dress on the red carpet is elegant without being too showy, and such a wonderful colour to boot. Luckily, here at Yours we have similar dresses that are equally as glamorous and even more flattering!

This is a great look for glamorous Christmas parties! While Katie keeps her accessories to a minimum, our selection of jewellery can add some extra sparkle.

Do you think you'll rock a blue gown this Christmas? Let me know in the comments!

THE Autumn trend: Colour Blocking!

Hello sweethearts, how is October keeping you? It's been a bumper few weeks for us, with dozens of new items added the store every day.

As well as our ever-popular military look, we've decided to bring you one of this year's biggest and most popular trends: colour blocking. It's been all over the catwalks, from acid brights to autumnal hues. Here are some of my favourite spring/summer runway looks:

Aren't they great? I am a huge fan of colour blocking, and there hasn't been much on offer for plus size women. But that's all changed!

It's taking me a lot of willpower not to snap these up at once - though it wouldn't cost that much even if I do, the prices are incredible! 4 out of 4 under £15? Yes, please!

All of these tunics would look amazing with thick opaque tights, or leggings and heels. Plain black leggings or you can even mix and match with our colour options! How will you wear yours?

Lots of love,

Lauren xx

My style, Yours style!

Hi everyone, hope you've had a fabulous weekend? And have you seen our latest development? Rather than pay extra for postage to return unwanted items, you can now pre-pay £1.49 to return your items via Collect+!

As well as that piece of good news, there have been some wonderful new clothing additions on site and in store. It doesn't happen to me often, but every now and again I see something new on site and have to buy it immediately. Last week, I snapped up this 60's inspired red and black dress and this week I thought I'd model it for you, even if I do look slightly grumpy!

This is a fab little dress or tunic! It's a comfortable, fluid jersey material. It also runs quite large and because of the stretch, it would work a size down from your usual. The dress has large armholes, which is great for those of you with large bosoms! I noticed the skinny leather belt was too big, so I used my own waist belt instead which works just as well. As I'm short (5'1"), I wear this as a dress with opaque black tights, however this would look just as good with leggings and boots on you taller ladies. This is a great blank canvas for your accessories and though it sounds like a cliché, it's an item that really can work for any occasion.

If you fancy something a little less traffic stopping, we have a black version with a red trim, which is also incredibly sweet. And who knows? There may be other colour options appearing... watch this space!

Celebrity Look: Kimberley Walsh

Hello lovelies, how are you all? Are you guys in the UK enjoying our half price next day delivery offer? I took advantage of it on this beautiful dress!

The ladies of Girls Aloud always tick fashion's boxes every time they go out, don't they? Last night Nicola Roberts, Cheryl Cole and Kimberley Walsh graced the red carpet for the Pride of Britain awards. Nicola and Cheryl both opted for sugared pink gowns, but I loved Kimberley's dramatic black lace number. And guess what? It's eerily similar to one of Yours' brand new evening gowns! So not only can you get Kimberley's look in sizes up to 32, but at a purse-friendly price!

Isn't it stunning? If you have any seriously glamorous ceremonies coming up, then this is the perfect outfit for you!
